Discover Saint Peter's is a three week class to help newer folks connect and learn about our church. We will gather in the Fellowship Hall Sunday evenings, April 8 through 22, from 5 to 6 p.m. During our time together, we'll discuss our Christian and Anglican identity, as well as what it looks like to be a member of the Saint Peter's community and how to get involved. Our Spring Bi-Annual Congregational Meeting will be on Sunday, May 6th, immediately following our regular worship service. We will be celebrating what God has done in the past year at Saint Peter’s and will be ratifying new stewards. If you’re a member or regular attender, it’s very important that you plan to attend. Save the date for this summer's Saint Peter's Vacation Bible School June 11 through 15 , 2018. We would love for all of our children ages 3 years old to rising 5th graders to be able to participate this year, as we venture together onto an unchartered island and learn the truth that Jesus carries each of us through life's storms. Last summer, close to fifty middle and high school students lived at Saint Peter's for a week and went out to serve the community each day. Lives were changed as students served others, built relationships, and engaged in worship.

Our Men's Advance will take place April 20-22 at Camp St. Christopher on Seabrook Island. It will be a weekend of rest, challenging teaching, and growth in relationships and discipleship. On Easter morning, we will have special services at 9 and 11 a.m. to celebrate our Risen Savior! We hope each of you will attend, and that you'll invite your friends and neighbors to join us! Throughout the Lenten Season, we have reflected on repentance and prepared our hearts for Christ’s death, as we move towards the joy of His resurrection. On Good Friday, we will observe a time of solemn reflection together, followed by an opportunity to individually observe the Stations of the Cross. We hope you will join us for this. Saint Peter's is planning a journey to the Holy Land next year, February 28 through March 9, 2019, for as many as 35 adult members of Saint Peter's church. This journey will be an exciting overview of the life and times of Jesus, visiting important places of His ministry from the Sea of Galilee to Jerusalem! Our tour guides will be from from Shoresh Tours, a Christian company based in Jerusalem.
There will be an informational meeting directly after church on March 25 to discuss costs and other tour details. TJ, our pastor, has asked Sharon De Grace and Sarah Voegler to help him coordinate this trip and we all will be looking forward to sharing details and answering questions at the March 25 meeting.
A huge part of being a husband or a father is serving and encouraging your family. Paul tells us to "walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us." On Thursday, March 15 at 7:15 p.m. we'll get really practical about how we can encourage our families in our daily lives. Weather permitting, we'll be around a fire at Oakland Plantation. March 4, 11 and 18, we will follow up our recent Parenting Event with three Sunday forums at 9:30 a.m. in mobile classroom 8. Topics will include: "Identity: Knowing Who You Are in Christ", "Having the Tough Conversations with Your Child" and "Putting Technology in it's Proper Place in the Family". We encourage parents with children of any age to join us as we to explore practical ways to parent our children so that they are grounded in family values, and learn to be responsible and resilient as they encounter the challenges of today’s world.
Join us on February 24 as we explore practical ways to parent our children from birth to adolescence so that they are not only grounded in family values, but also responsible and resilient as they encounter the challenges of today’s children. Chad and Autumn Ward will be here from Cumming, Georgia, to share their own experiences raising their children who are now in college and high school. We will gather together from 3 to 6 p.m. with a family dinner immediately following. Our Children's Ministry team will be available to care for your children during the event. The season of Lent reminds us that we are dust and to dust we shall return. For 40 days we are encouraged to set aside time for reflection and penitence as we are led on a journey with Christ to the cross (and to our joyous Easter celebration). Ash Wednesday, February 14, marks the beginning of the season of Lent. On this day, we’re offering a service at 6:30 p.m. to collectively focus our church’s hearts and minds on Christ. Our Annual Father Daughter Dance will be February 9, at 6:30 p.m. This is special evening is designed for fathers and daughters. Grandfathers and other significant others are encouraged to come as well. The evening will include music and dancing, dinner and a chance for special pictures. Don't miss this opportunity to take your little girl out on a date and show her how a gentleman treats a lady! Also don't forget to invite your neighbors and friends to join you with their daughters on this special night! Tickets are only $30 a couple and $5 for each additional daughter. Join us from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. January 27 for our Annual Oyster Roast and Dip Off. Bring your award-winning favorite dip, lawn chairs, family and friends over to the Saint Peter's Barn to enjoy a fun afternoon under the oaks! We will also have hot dogs for your children and for those who may not prefer oysters. This is one of our biggest opportunities to INVITE neighbors, coworkers and friends to join you. We will even pay for half of your guests' tickets! Tickets are $25 each for oyster eaters and $10 each for non-oyster eaters. Kids 12 and under are free.
The First Communion Class is an opportunity for children in 3rd through 5th grade to learn and experience what it means to come to the table each Sunday. We will meet on Sunday, January 21 from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. for Session One and then continue on Sunday, January 28 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. for Session Two with dinner included. Parents are asked to attend alongside of their children as they grow and learn with one another. At the end of sessions, children will be given an opportunity to take their First Communion during worship along our Saint Peter's Community. January 18 through 20, Saint Peter’s will host a Christian Healing Ministries School of Healing Prayer Event. The Christian Healing Ministries team will be here from Jacksonville, FL to teach on topics from their Levels II & III Schools, and lead worship. We are excited to announce that we will be hosting Drawing Near to God beginning on January 10 for a 12-week series and study on Ephesians. This is an opportunity for women within Saint Peter's and within our community to join together for a time of powerful worship, engaging small group discussion, prayer ministry and dynamic teaching by Joanne Ellison. Our new Evening Women's Bible Study is an opportunity for women to study God's Word, and support each other through prayer and fellowship. We will study Ephesians using John Stott's Bible study - the same study that is being used in the Drawing Near to God daytime study. This Christmas Eve, Sunday, December 24, we will gather together in the morning for our regular worship service at 10:30 a.m. Then in the evening, we will have special candlelit services at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. with a live nativity to tell the story of Jesus' birth.
